Award-winning author, Jeanetta Britt, began writing in Dallas, Texas, but has recently returned to her native Alabama to live and to write. She is a graduate of Fisk University, a historically black college, and she holds a masters degree from The University of Michigan.
Miss Britt writes fiction novels, filled with juicy drama and suspense that excite the senses and inspire the soul. “While being swept up in the story,” Miss Britt says, “I want my readers to feel the love of Jesus and find refuge in Him, like I did.” She writes inspirational poetry as well.
Her novel series includes, Pickin’ Ground (ISBN 0-9712363-3-x); In Due Season (ISBN 0-9712363-4-8); and Lottie (ISBN 0-9712363-6-4). In Pickin’ Ground, Lottie and her boss, Raymond, run from their past and a masked killer on the way to making some compelling choices that change their lives forever. In Due Season, Lottie returns home to rural Alabama to help her mother and her community, only to find what she’d been longing for--true purpose and true love. And in, Lottie, she’s become the first female African-American senator in Alabama, she just got married, and the good-ole-boys are trying to kill her. Her priorities are out of whack, but through faith and prayer she comes to realize, “There’s no love like married love.”
Miss Britt’s new novel, Empty Envelope (ISBN 978-0-9712363-5-6), is a story of love deferred through great trial and personal sacrifice until the Lord brings it forth in great triumph. “Yes, we can do it God’s way and win!”
Miss Britt is also the author of four books of poetry: Poems from the Fast (ISBN 0-9712363-0-5); Reunion (ISBN 0-9712363-1-3); Third Ear (ISBN 0-9712363-2-1); and Under the Influence--Spoken Praise (ISBN 0-9712363-7-2).
